Lost Gem: KANO had a big moment with “Can’t Hold Back (Your Loving)”

KANO was an Italian band heavily influenced by a blend of German Keyboard and American Sounds. Despite having two solid hits on their debut album one year earlier with the Keyboard-based and VERY Kraftwerk + Disco + Hip-Hop tracks "I'm Ready" and "Its A War", the band recruited soul vocalist and fellow Black European by way of Dutch Antilles- Glen White.

The resultant album, New York Cake, sought to embrace more of their USA influences with more Chic-meets-Change sounds on display. Central to this new sound was the track "Cant Hold Back (Your Loving)," which was a radio hit of note, did decent sales, and charted fairly well. (Billboard Disco #20, R&B #35 & Pop #89).

Enjoy this bouncy, funky, energetically sung piece of the past that you might have never remembered just "who" it was by....until now!
