2007 SoulTracks Readers' Choice Award Winners!
Well, the waiting is over! Many thanks to the thousands of you who voted for this year's winners of the SoulTracks Readers' Choice Awards. And further thanks to the enthusiastic audience that crowded into COBO Center to attend this year's Awards ceremony.
What a night! The performances by Gordon Chambers, Maya Azucena, Phil Perry, Maysa, Conya Doss, Kloud 9 and of course Eric Roberson were simply amazing. And then a surprise finale by Rahsaan Patterson made the evening! Check out the pictures taken at the show! We cannot thank enough all of the great talent that came to Detroit to make it an historical evening. And we don't think we could summarize the evening any better than how it was described by Darren Monroe of 4DaSoul.
For those of you who weren't there, here are your winners of this year's Readers' Choice Awards. All of the nominees were incredible, and the voting was close in nearly every category. Congratulations to all of the finalists!

The Award Show
EricRoberson - November 18th, 2007
i just want to say how impressed i was with the Soultracks award show. Everything was beautiful, from the staff, band, performers, presenters, and crowd. i see this becoming very successful, and its such an important outlet for independent music. I honestly sat at my seat extremely proud throughout the entire night. Congrats Chris and the Soultracks staff, Mo and his staff, and Jodine and her staff for putting together a great event.

Usually, there is a specific highlight of an evening such as this. I can honestly say that the entire evening was the HIGHLIGHT for me!!
From the time the plane touched the ground, I felt an adrenaline rushing through my body and it’s still living inside of me. Ditto to everything Eric said, and might I add that the show was impeccably organized. If the opportunity presented itself for me to be a part of this exciting event again, it would be done in a heartbeat.
For all of you who missed this night of pure elation, you missed history in the making.
Mainstream ain’t got nothing on the indie movement!! Now we have an awards show we can definitely call our own; SoulTracks, Jodine’s Corner and MosaicThump have set the stage!
I dare somebody to step up and make it better.
I'm still living in the moment!!

Definitely echoing the two previous comments, but I have to also say that I am exceptionally proud of Chris, Jodine (the hostess with the mostess!) and Mo for bringing this vision into existence! This event was a "Who's Who in the Indie Soul Movement" and it was an honor for me to just be present. Absent of egos, drama and attitudes, people came out to support good music -- and to be filled with a tremendous spirit of progress. I look forward to seeing and being a part of what lies ahead.
It was a blessing to meet so many that I've spoken with or corresponded with over the years. Such warmth and welcoming vibes were all around us.
Let's do it again!
Detrel (the 1st SoulTracks Staff Writer -- smile -- thanks for the reminder! Wow!)

....great ceremonies! I'm extremely proud to see how far Soultracks.com has come in one year. Even the award itself has grown (LOL)! Being an attendee at the Soultracks.com Music Awards makes me even more proud to be an independent artist. Congratulations to all the winners. My deepest thanks to Chris Rizik and his family for keeping it alive.
