This list was good, not great. I couldn't pick 20 out of the list given. This was the decade of sampling. I didn't care for much of the sound of that era, with the exception of the New Jack Swing sound that was short lived. Gangsta Rap had taken over which ruined the sould of soul for me. Luckily I had my albums and cassettes of my artists to listen to. I do see a change coming back around to real soul music. Music with substance and heart not anger and bitterness.

Great list. However, I see some albums from 2000, contrarily to what is said above, such as Voodoo or Mama's Gun. I didn't vote for them for that sole reason. However, I'm quite satisfied with the results so far, and seeing Maxwell outdoing D'Angelo is kinda great after all, it was about time for a revenge after all that praise for D'Angelo! But I don't get the point with all these Mariah Carey cds included, to me she's more like a adult contemporary pop singer. As for Luther's 6th position, I really don't get it. I love Luther but I think that Your Secret Love was really a lackluster in his catalogue.
