This is a tougher decade for

This is a tougher decade for me than the others. I probably couldn't name 20 of these that I really liked. But I really got into the Will Downing and the Temptations ones.

Maxwell, Lauryn Hill, Badu

Maxwell, Lauryn Hill, Badu and D'Angelo as the top 4? Looks like "neo soul" as they called it then wins. Happy to see Will Downing up there.

Trying to understand how

Trying to understand how Rachelle Ferrell's self-titled debut album was left off the list of nominees. Some other interesting omissions and inclusions as well, but the exlusion of this one to me, was major...

How about adding Brandy's

How about adding Brandy's first album "Brandy" its a classic!!

Man, I really had a rough

Man, I really had a rough time because I loved most of the options. Indeed I clicked on so many I didn't know if my votes would even count, lol. I was teen and young collegiate in the 1990s, so I had been touched by these songs like people who grew up in the 60s, 70s and 80s were with the music of those eras. I really appreciated the diversity of the selections as well although I must say that I am truly a 'neo soul' queen with Maxwell, Erykah and D'Angelo being my favorites of all times. Thanks for such a great trip down memory lane!

Although I have overall

Although I have overall praise for the list since it includes some of my all-time faves, I must say that I agree that there were some stellar albums excluded. Rachelle's is definitely one. Another I would say is Rahsaan Patterson's "Love in Stereo".

Agree. Rachelle is one of

Agree. Rachelle is one of my all time favorites.

The first Deborah Cox was in

The first Deborah Cox was in the top 100 but it just missed being in the top 75 in the voting.

Hey I have to agree about

Hey I have to agree about Rachelle Ferrell's self titled album. It's agreat album and I continually play it. Also I am disappointed that Ann Nesby's "I'm here for you didn't make it and that Milara's "Back again" wasn't nominated.

Ok ! I should have voted

Ok !

I should have voted for her (Deborah Cox) before and do my advertising campaign.

Next time.

Thank you for your answer.

As a true R&B lover, I am

As a true R&B lover, I am very surprised that one group in particular did not make this cut.
Group: Christion
Album: Ghetto Cyrano

But other than that, great list!

Some personal picks:
H-Town's Ladies Edition (tracks 5-19)
Donnel Jones' My Heart 1996
Donnel Jones' Where I wanna be 1999

While I agree with most of

While I agree with most of this list and I'm glad to see Erykah Badu's Mama's Gun on the list, becuase it has been so underated. Frankie's album my heart belongs to you is one of the best soul albums ever made and should be on this list.
