Native Detroiter LaShawn D Gary is a man who doesn’t stop. With both a Bachelors and Masters degree, he’s been teaching music students in several school districts while at the same time working with some of the most notable adult soul artists like Keith Washington, Raphael Saadiq and The Four Tops, and serving as Director of Music at multiple churches.
Now LaShawn is releasing his debut album, Love, Peace & Praise, and he is using all that he’s learned over the years to create an album with a classic soul feel to it. His first single, “Look Into Your Eyes,” walks the line between soul and jazz beautifully, nodding a bit to his mentor, Michael Powell (Anita Baker), and with the smooth vocal feel of Keith Washington or Victor Fields.

The continuation of my journey has been grounded through my faith in God. The diligence of my pursuit has been in perseverance, recognizing that when one door closes, God opens another.”
