It’s summer. So, it’s hot, humid, and—depending on where you live—it’s unusually wet.
This calls for sweating and dancing, whether on the dance floor or in the rain. In honor of summer, we’re dropping two Soulful Summer mixes in one week, a soundtrack for day and one for night. Each will be over three hours of grown folks’ sounds to catch a groove.
Usually, because of the mission of the LMG Soul Eclectics Mix Show to spotlight and celebrate music of this millennium, the material is 99% from releases of the last 15 years. With the help of a few soulful house disco mixes from DJ Henry, we’re digging into the crates for the first half of this mix, one heavily devoted to you house heads. As with all the LMG Soul Eclectics mixes, there are no musical boundaries of songs in the Black American Music tradition, with everything from acid jazz and the blues to hip hop soul and soulful house are represented.
