(February 22, 2017) The road not taken, the words not spoken, the kiss that gave way to a platonic hug.....there's a time and a place for everything, yet you let the moment slip away and may have lost out on making it happen. That type of lamentation is hard to put into words, much less to music, but that's what the multi-faceted Amber Mimz has achieved with the wistful and melodic ballad, "Start."

Influenced by the heady likes of John Coltrane, Led Zepplin, Minnie Riperton, the DC-based hair stylist, jewelry designer and musician has developed a steady following since her 2013 debut, The Life of Riley, and in the video for "Start," her first single from her new EP Three, Amber paired her eloquent, plaintive soprano to images of couples as she wanders the streets of London wishing she had only made that move: "I should have grabbed your hand, all those rides home.....now you got me wondering, what would have happened, if we just start." A powerful message wrapped up in a beautiful melody, Mimz' "Start" will linger on the eardrum and get you open to the wonderful possibilities.....hers and your own.
