Barsheem may be a new name to listeners, but the Brooklyn-bred singer-songwriter has been paying his dues for over a decade. After landing on-screen appearances in the dramatic musical series American Dreams and the 2006 movie adaptation of Dreamgirls, the smooth crooner—who cites Babyface and Marvin Gaye as key influences—is primed to release his debut album, What Is To Be Major.
