(August 3, 2018) Occasionally, a late bloomer comes along who navigates into the music industry with the kind of education, perseverance and hard work that can still fulfill their aspirations.  At fifty years young, Brian Power headed his first major DJ gig in 2003, gaining a respectable following in the process from the London to Ibiza club scene. Yet in the long run, it was Power's musical savvy and self-pronounced clubbing that produced fruitful results – promotions, a monthly radio gig and collaborations, including Mike Delgado (Masters At Work).  And those house music wheels keep on turning via his Soul House Music company. which produced his debut compilation release, Brian Power Presents Soulhouse Vol. 1, and two singles: "Can We Pretend’ with Kathy Kosins and "'To Feel Your Grace" with Michelle John.

For his upcoming single from a full-length due in the late summer, Power reaches out to an old SoulTracks friend in vocalist Hilary Mwelwa from Hil St. Soul.

Their joint effort, "A New Day (The World is Mine)," floats on air with Power's trademark house music vibe, echoing a spiritual pick me up about facing one day at a time: "A new day is dawning/ The devil is messing with my mind."   As bonus coverage, "A New Day (The World is Mine)" features a mix from dance underground favorite in Jihad Muhammed, sprinkling his Afro house club classic, "Bang The Dream."  So check out our latest First Listen entry, "A New Day,” and experience proven late bloomers like Power living out their dream to the fullest.
