Musical versatility runs in Dominique Toney's blood. Her father, keyboardist Kevin Toney, was a founding member of the groundbreaking, oft-sampled funk-jazz fusion outfit, The Blackbyrds. On her first single, the singer-songwriter-arranger makes clear that she plans to hold up that colorful legacy. "Loving You's So Easy," an elegant, finger-snapping tale of newfound romance, finds her wrapping crisp, silky tones around a groove that harmoniously blends R&B, pop, and funk.
