We’ve been fans for years of the great, Grammy nominated songwriting duo, Helen Bruner and Terry Jones. So when they reached out to us with the chance to premiere their new holiday single, we couldn’t resist!
Helen and Terry wanted to write a holiday song that would capture the essence of their childhood, remembering when their parents would play holiday albums of great artists and prepare for the season. “ I always loved it when my mom would pull out the Jackson 5, Stevie Wonder, Temptations holiday albums and I would get so excited because I knew it was time to go get the tree and decorate,” says Helen. Terry adds, “I came up with the hook melody when we were in Tokyo performing some years back and we never forgot it and this year decided to finish it.”
So they went right into the studio in early November and recorded the single, in time for Christmas 2014. And it is the kind of fun and festive song that will get SoulTrackers in the holiday spirit, while we all wait for Helen and Terry to finish their much awaited 2015 album.
