Singer, songwriter and drummer Imani Hutton has a story to tell. Born in Maryland, she developed as a songwriter and singer while attending Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL. While observing music from many artists she found that most of it did not come from a heartfelt place. She felt there needed to be a change in the lyrics and that music needed to mirror life and address the fact that there will be heartaches and disappointments. This realization occurred in the midst of her own battle with homelessness.

Determined to spread her message of love through song, Imani continued to hone her craft. This brought along the completion of her debut album, Go The Right Way.  To read more about Imani, visit: http://manimademusic.wordpress.com/

The first song from Imani that hit our radar is the beautiful, gentle song of thankfulness, “Grateful.” Says Imani about the song, “‘I’m Grateful’ is my best interpretation of my childhood’s favorite moments in hip hop and r&b. Also, Realizing what I did have led me to be thankful for everything, even the things I did not have.

We think you’re going to like this song as much as we do. Check out “I’m Grateful” below.
