(January 9, 2017) UK singer Jo Harman grew up on lots of types of music, from Motown to the Beatles, and she brings all those elements into her music, which doesn’t sound like the normal fare on radio. “I’m not trying to fit in anywhere,” admits Harman. “I’m just trying to write classic songs, and present them with classic production. When you try to chase what’s going on at the moment, then it’s going to sound old very quickly.”

To record her newest album, People We Become (due on February 3, 2017), Harman crossed the Atlantic, to Nashville, and teamed with producer Fred Mollin to create a disc captures the fresh, authentic sound of that city. And her first single from the album is a beauty, opening with a Doobie Brothers-sounding guitar intro and leading into a horn-and-organ filled, scorching duet with Michael McDonald. It is both infectious and fun.
