White is currently building her acting resume while keeping music in the mix. She recently landed a recurring role on the Centric sitcom Beauty and the Baller (as trophy wife Kym Banks), and now she’s setting her sights on cinematic heights with the independent film Gale and The Storm. As fictional soul singer “Gale Storm,” White’s lead character has left the music industry to build a real estate empire, but is wooed by a music producer to return to the stage. Serving as co-writer and executive producer of the film, Karyn incorporated elements of her own life story—as well as that of Club Nouveau founder/film producer Jay King—into the script, which is bolstered by a soundtrack of new originals and a score by Derek “DOA” Allen.

White gives fans a preview of the music from Gale and the Storm with the musically soft, lyrically affirmative “Blind Man Walking.” Accompanied by a light percussive groove and acoustic guitar, “Storm” sings, ‘As soon as we get good, you go and switch it up…Build it up, tear it down/You’re a blind man walking, you con’t have a clue…What you do is gon’ catch up to you.”

Check out the scene from Gale and the Storm below in which White’s character, pried on by friends, returns to the stage to perform “Blind Man Walking.” (To learn more about the movie, visit https://www.galeandthestorm.com/.)
