Rokia Traoré is a Malian vocalist, songwriter and guitarist who sings in French, her native Bambara language and occasionally English.  She has released five albums since 1998, the last two of which, Tchamantche and Beautiful Africa, charted in France and Belgium. Her music is a lovely mélange of Malian rhythms, folk, rock, and jazz topped by her smoky, entrancing vocals.

We feature here “Ne-Só,” the title track from her new album slated for release on February 11 and featuring Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones on bass.
