Award winning female artist Rumer (real name Sarah Joyce) has a voice that been described by The Guardian newspaper as being reminiscent of Karen Carpenter. Blue-eyed Soul has certainly produced many top selling artists in the past: Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff started their Philadelphia hit run with The Soul Survivors and their US 1967 top 5 single, “Expressway To Your Heart,” and many other timeless artists such as Teena Marie, Michael McDonald and Lisa Stansfield will always have a place in the soul music world.

Rumer, who is a Pakistani-born British singer songwriter, first made an impression with her debut platinum top selling UK top 5 album, Seasons of My Soul. Her follow up gold album in 2012 included versions of Isaac Hayes’ Soulsville,” “Sara Smile,” and covers by other 70's singer songwriters. In 2011, Rumer was nominated for two Brit Awards, won the MOJO Award for Best Breakthrough Act, and also won the UK Asian Music Award for Best Alternative Act.

Rumer will release her third album album, Into Colour, on November 10, 2014 in the UK, Ireland and Japan. The record will then be released worldwide in early 2015 on Atlantic Records. The first single to be released from the album is "Dangerous," which takes Rumer in a more Disco/ Soul direction with its lush production.  Check out this new SoulTracks First Listen and tell us what you think.
