First Listen: Sevyn Streeter’s Tribute to Aaliyah, “Before I Do”

    March 11, 2017 --Sevyn Streeter is a singer/songwriter from Florida who first came to public attention at age 15 as a member of the group TG4, which charted one single on the Billboard R&B 100 before disbanding.  After a brief stint in the group RichGirl, Streeter went solo in 2012 and has released two EP’s as well as number of singles, most notably “It Won’t Stop” featuring Chris Brown.  She was nominated as Best New Artist at the 2014 Soul Train Awards and is about to release her debut full-length album, Girl Disrupted.

    We feature below Streeter’s advance single “Before I Do,” which she has described as a tribute to her hero Aaliyah and the sounds of her beloved 90’s R&B.  Streeter has a supple, alluring and elastic voice that effortlessly rides the smooth groove here.  Enjoy.
