We first discovered Yolanda Johnson's music several years ago, and she won a lot of fans and several SoulTracks Awards nominations over the years. But it has been a minute since we've heard from Miss Yolanda, so we are very glad that she is back with a new project coming and a new single now in the form of the Tony Ozier-produced "Ties."

Says Yolanda about "Ties": This song came from the realest place at the realest time in my life. That place where you come to a screeching halt enough to really assess your situation and those who are occupying it. You look around at all the clutter , the hangers on, the emotional vampires, the negative Nancy's, the users and you decide that it's time to clean house. It's a very painful process. It's not fun at all it hurts, but it's so necessary.

Let "Ties" be that jam for your "reason and a season" house cleaning. I encourage you to listen to this song get your big girl or big boy scissors out and get to cutting....ties ....don't start cutting folk lawd lol. I'm talking emotional ties, karmic ties, soul ties, ties that no longer serve your greater good.THOSE kind of ties. Can I get a witness! I hope you enjoy!
