I could have thought of a few hundred more, but this is a really good selection.

This is really tough. Zoom

This is really tough. Zoom by the Commodores is my favorite, but Marvin, Earth Wind and Fire, the Four Tops, Anita Baker, Phyllis Hyman. All good. I can't wait to see the final results

lovin life This is the best

lovin life

This is the best poll ever, brings back a lot of memories

Wow - unbelievable that

Wow - unbelievable that Smokey Robinson & The Miracles Ooh Baby Baby is not at or near to the top of this list! What is the average age of your subscriber? For a true assessment, may have been better to judge by decade.

Should have been separated

Should have been separated by decade. The Dramatics should have at least six in the top 100 especially "Open The Door To Your Heart" and in my humble opinion "Stay In My Corner" by the Dells is the national anthem of slow music. What about the Intruder, "I Wanna Know Your Name? Great topic.

Really?! Half the songs on

Really?!
Half the songs on this list I'd thow out directly!
Okay, I'm new, this is my first post and I can see that my suspisions are confirmed that many people have their own definition of 'slow jam'.
Maybe it would help with next time you do this poll, that some descriptive parameters be used. For example; the distiction between a song thats a slow and mellow groove - thats good to 'chill' to, verses a song that so emotionally powerful that it COMPELS you to grab someone to the dance floor, hold her/him close and truly..."slow jam".
Just a thought.

Even if you broke it down by decade, I believe there would still be a many classic songs left off the list. Nice try though.

I see you already have Earth

I see you already have Earth Wind & Fire but one song is missing... LOVES HOLIDAY!

Man, what a great list. I

Man, what a great list. I was suprised there was no ConFunkShun (Love's Train and I'm Leaving Baby). Another song that alot of people missed is I'll Do Whatever by Impromp2. Peace

This can't be ALL, where's

This can't be ALL, where's the rest? This list is pretty superficial.

Hey I don't see, I'll always

Hey I don't see, I'll always love you by Taylor Dayne, Piano in the dark by I think Nina, Secreat Lovers by Peaches and Herb, and a few songs by The Jets, these songs great, but missing a few classics.

Love the List, but I would

Love the List, but I would have "I'm so into you" by Peabo Bryson on there before "Feel the Fire". Also, how can there be no solo Teena Marie? Ooh La la or Out on A Limb are both worthy.

Very impressive. However,

Very impressive. However, while Tamia's version of "You Put a Move On My Heart" on Quincy's album is fine, I don't think it betters the original by Mica Paris.

I think this is an amazing

I think this is an amazing list but the Platters should have made it, they have so much wonderful ballads

Come on guys, no hits by the Manhattans, "Let's Just Kiss and Say Goodbye", "It's You that I Need", or the Late Great Walter Jackson, "Baby I Love Your Ways". I'm so sorry I missed the invitation to give suggestions to the list. I was sad to see the Spinners, "Love Don't Love Nobody", so far down this list. I'll be paying more attention to my e-mails next time. I like Maxwell, but to be #3 on the list, I'm not feeling that so much. Any of the songs I named should or could easily be in the top ten. Still a good list but not great.

Made an egregious error in my last post. The song, I felt that should have made the list, "It's You that I Need",was recorded by the group "Enchantment" not the Manhattans. The song, "Where Do We Go From Here", also by Enchantment, could have made the list as well. I agree with some of the previous posters, maybe if the list were compiled based upon the decade, there would be a more accurate or comprehensive list of the best R & B true "SLOW JAMS".

Very interesting list, but

Very interesting list, but J.J. Barnes's "I Just Make Believe (I'm Touching You)" should be on that list.

This is one of the BEST Slowjam Ever recorded...!

You Don't Have To Cry by

You Don't Have To Cry by René & Angela could have make the list too

L. Michael Gipson Overall

L. Michael Gipson
Overall its a radio hit list for a "Quiet Storm" format. I think some serious Teena Marie got overlooked as did some Lalah, just a host of folks. But, I genuflect to our readers. I would have had a much more eclectic and sometimes less obvious list myself.

P.S. For the person who missed the Blue Magic, "Sideshow" was number 99.
