The GroovProject

Official Biography (courtesy of The GroovProject)

Born into a musical family from Kingston, NY, Groov started playing percussion at the tender age of 9. He later transitioned into playing drums in junior high school and by the time he graduated from high school, Groov did his first recording session with a local gospel group. Groov's biggest influence at the time was jazz and gospel music and the ability to always play in churches in which the skill levels of his peers were sometimes superior to mine. This was the truest learning experience for him. After many years passing, Groov soon started his own production company and relocated to Atlanta, GA. This is where Groov really found his niche in the music industry. He also started his own jazz band, called GroovProject in 2006 and released his first project called Soul Jazzations. His band has performed at over 50 venues, along with radio interviews, and continue to have increasing success with CD sales online. Groov has released two more projects called The Life, The Loss, The Love, released in December 2007 and his most recent project is called, Electric Vibes, released in September 2009 on the BPMG label.

GroovProject's fourth album, "Freedom" is due out this Fall. The first single, "Moonlight" was released in August and is being featured on many radio stations.

Groov has also produced the latest album, "My Beautiful Ugly" by soul artist, TwinSpirit, which was released this past summer. The album is available online.
