Laura Jane is an indie soul artist based out of Los Angeles, California.  She released her first indie album in 2005 called TO MY PLANET BOO.  The album got international airplay and gained rave reviews.  Her singles SUMMERTIME IN THE CITY and THE JOURNEY got the most attention with their catchy melodies , smooth harmonies and funky beats.

In 2011 Laura jane released a single called LIFT ME UP off an EP called Have You Met Miss Jones.  LIFT ME UP  also got international airplay and great reviews.  It’s a catchy house club beat with jazz influenced chords.  Laura Jane’s signature vocal sounds and vocal arrangements make this a “must have”.  The lyric “I’m born today” symbolizes a new sound and a new era for Laura Jane and her music.

Laura also recently released a new song called THE ANSWER.  This track features Brazilian percussionist Gilmar Gomes,( who has played with the likes of Richard Bona, Angelique Kidjoe, Harry Belanfonte and Meshelle Ndegecello to name a few) Laura Jane says this piece started out as a mantra, it features of a symphony of voices with a beautiful vocal arrangement created by Laura Jane and Jason Paige.  The only other instrument on the song are chorus of live percussion.  The ANSWER is a funky groovy, afro world beat tune that will give you chills. 

Laura Jane is releasing an album later this year.  It is completely a new sound, much more acoustic, piano and upright bass.  “I wanted to focus on songwriting, melody and lyrics, not a lot of riffing and running and prove to the world that I am good songwriter.  It’s been a interesting process, my lyrics are personal and vulnerable, it’s new territory for me”.
