Currently touring behind her new album Soul Eyes, which earned a “highly recommended” review from this site, Springs appeared last night before a full house at Le Poisson Rouge in Greenwich Village. Supported only by a drummer and standup bassist, with occasional accompaniment on guitar by the renowned songwriter Jesse Harris (who co-wrote some of her new tracks), Springs performed most of her new record as well as the singles from her debut EP, including “Love Got In the Way.”

From her opening number “Novocaine Heart” to her closing cover of “First Time Ever I Saw Your Face,” Springs charmed the audience with not just her personal warmth and musicianship but also with the genuine joy she exhibits when performing.
