The extravaganza, "Teddy 25" will be hosted by actress/comedienne, Mo'Nique and features musical tributes performed by Patti La Belle, Stephanie Mills, Musiq, a special presentation by Bill Cosby, internationally acclaimed dance company, Philadanco. As part of Teddy's performance, he will premiere a new song written exclusively for the event and join the other entertainers in an all-star finale.

While the entertainers will celebrate Teddy's life, career, and music, The Teddy Pendergrass Alliance will honor Patti LaBelle, Whitney Houston, Arsenio Hall, Regis Philbin, Ashford & Simpson, Cathy Hughes (CEO & founder of TV One/Radio One), Mark P. Mays (CEO, Clear Channel), Donald Trump, Daniel Markus & Shep Gordon (managers), Bob Krasnow (CEO of Elektra/Asylum Records), his longtime publicist Lisa Barbaris, family, friends, and a number of medical personnel and others. Along with the honorees, invited celebrity guests and presenters include Melba Moore, Kindred, and Vivian Green to name a few.

Philadelphia International founders and soul music pioneers, Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff are the chairpersons of The Teddy 25 event which will also honor celebrities, industries executives, medical personnel, organizations, and personal friends & family who have contributed over 25 years to his well-being. "We want to support Teddy because he's a symbol of strength and I admire that attribute," offers Gamble. "In addition to being a great artist, he's matured into being a symbol of commitment and endurance."

The Mistress of Ceremonies, actress and comedienne, Mo'Nique, expressed, "It's an honor for me to host this event. Teddy Pendergrass is a musical icon. He's crossed all barriers with his music. I remember being a young girl and my oldest cousin Beverly used to play his music all the time. She was such a huge fan, as I got older, I understood why."

Patti LaBelle, who co-chairs the event along with NBA All-Star, Julius Erving, shared her sentiments, "Teddy and I performed together on the same shows back in the day at the Uptown and Apollo Theaters. He was one of those performers who couldn't be touched - like my friend Luther Vandross. Just like you will never find another Luther, there could never be another Teddy. He's truly one of a kind and I'm glad to be able to always call him, a phenomenal friend."

While ticket proceeds will benefit The Teddy Pendergrass Alliance (TPA), a non-profit organization which helps people with SCI rebuild their lives, the organization is grateful for any monetary contributions, sponsorship and support that may be offered to assist in the production of this elaborate star-studded extravaganza which has been called the premiere Black Music Month event.
