Fresh from his recent debut at the House Of Blues on Sunset Strip, Def Soul Classics/Muzic Wonderland recording artist Abraham ‘A.B.' McDonald, whose debut single "Miracle" jumped to #17-bullet on the Urban AC chart, geared up for his biggest role ever - opening this summer's past all-star Budweiser Superfest Tour.
A.B. Joined an A-list of contemporary R&B's greatest stylists: Anthony Hamilton, Kem, Jaheim, and Raheem Devaughn. The one-month, 19- state 21 city Budweiser Superfest Tour which opened August 5th at the Time Warner Cable Amphitheater at Tower City in Cleveland, and played through September 10th at Superpages Amphitheater in Dallas. He was named the Artist to watch for by Essence Magazine The Article simple called 10 reasons to Love Abraham McDonald. November 2nd He rocked the Petersen Museum with a lively set and the crowd favorite rendition of "Rock With You" by Michael Jackson. He has sang at least 5 NBA teams, the Galaxy Soccer Team Dodgers, LA Angels and Kings to victory with his classic performance of the National Anthem. November 12 Abraham floored Dr. Cornell West with his honorarium performance of his Hit single "Miracle" "His voice is a blessing to all on earth" said Dr Cornell West. With his "Home For The Holiday's" benefit concerts Abe has encouraged thousands to give toys and school supplies to the Foster Care youth in his current home city Los Angeles. He has paired up with the Victoria Rowell's Foster Care Plan to make this Holiday a great one for many children in this area. Please see concert schedule below. November 30th hundreds of school supplies were brought out to Vibrato Jazz Grill in Bel Air Ca where Abraham debuted his new single "Giving You My Heart For Christmas" to a packed house. With his much anticipated Luther Vandross Tribute on TV 1's Way Black When hosted by Niecy Nash, Abraham McDonald has become the artist to listen for.
"Miracle" was the lead track from A.B.'s debut album, set for Spring 2011 release. "Miracle" was produced by the successful production team of Sam Watters and Louis Biancaniello (Whitney Houston, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis, and Jessica Simpson, to name a few). The video for "Miracle" was directed by Clifton Bell, who has worked on clips for Trey Songz, Rev Run, and A.B.'s tour mate Raheem Devaughn. The video premiered on Oprah.com exclusively before hitting other music markets. Now his Christmas single "Giving You My Heart For Christmas" has touched hearts in a way that it will definitely become an all time Christmas favorite for many years to come
A.B. Shot to the stratosphere with his victory on the first Oprah Show Karaoke Challenge last November 2009, which re-aired on July 15th (check local listings). Judges for the Challenge included producer David Foster, songwriter Diane Warren, and Antonio "L.A." Reid. Diane Warren is among the songwriters and producers working with A.B. at the legendary Record Plant in his hometown of L.A., along with such heavyweights as Watters and long-time partner Louis Biancaniello, JR Rotem, Paula Gallitano, and others.
A.B.'s win on the Karaoke Challenge, which led to live performances on three Oprah shows, was the culmination of a life-long journey to share his musical artistry with the world. It all began when he won the ACT-SO talent contest at age 13 with his version of Oleta Adam's "Get Here." Years later, the same song won him Oprah's first prize of $250,000 plus the Def Jam contract. The singer and his mom have moved into a new home in Hawthorne, and he has seen his dreams take legs "in Jesus' Cadillac." A.B. Is also driving a new car proudly showed Oprah his "No Phone Zone" certificate on his latest visit, much to her delight.
