B.O.S.S is an acronym which the group’s co-founder, producer/musician Abdul Malik Abbott aka DJ AbbyAB coined from his adoration of smooth & sexy soul music. In 2010 he joined forces with co-founder, singer/songwriter Natalieq aka Natalie Ridley and formed B.O.S.S, which is a music project that incorporates and celebrates the sounds of R&B, Jazz, Soul, Reggae, Pop & electronica. Their first single is entitled “Come Again”, a tune that truly defines their multifaceted sound and their second single “Me & You” also embraces that sound now utilizing electric guitar by their latest addition to the group, guitarist Mike P.

Natalieq was born into the arts industry in Brooklyn, touching all corners of the arts as early as age 9. She went to Performing Arts H.S. in NYC and is an NYU alumni. The Lion King was one of the international shows she performed in, abroad and on Broadway's stage, performing several different roles which showcase her voice, acting and dance talent. Natalieq performed in live performances and/or videos with artists Beyonce, Joss Stone and Tweet.  Natalieq has been blessed to flex her talent in both film and TV, appearing in “Meteor Path to Destruction”, “Shark”, “Smith” and “The Wackness”.

Abdul Malik Abbott was raised in Harlem, NY and was a member of the Boys Choir of Harlem as a youngster. Following in his father's footsteps, he decided to become a filmmaker and after graduating from the High School of Music & Art, he attended NY's School of Visual Arts as a film major.

Abdul worked as a sound technician on “Do the Right thing” & “Mo' Better Blues” and many other movies and TV shows. His love of music only grew larger while being part of the MTV generation, which introduced him to all sorts of musical styles and genres. Growing up with rap & hip-hop as his life's soundtrack, Abdul also embraced the sound coming from over-seas, his love for Euro-soul & euro pop heavily influenced his musical tastes to date.

Abdul also directed several classic videos including videos for the late jazz legend Abbey Lincoln and Jay-Z, introducing Jay-Z to the world with the “must-have” home video "Streets is Watching" as well as the hip-hop infused feature film "State Property" (Lionsgate), in which he also co-produced music for the soundtrack. Abdul has worked with 100's of artists, but never lost his love for creating music of his own which was finally recognized with the creation of B.O.S.S.

Mike P. is the latest addition to B.O.S.S as guitarist and songwriter, bringing a new vibe to the band.  Mike was born in Cleveland, Ohio and has lived in North Carolina, Florida and New York.  Primarily self-taught, he has been playing guitar and writing songs for more than ten years both on his own and with other independent artists.  In addition to working with B.O.S.S he is currently writing and recording instrumental tracks for an upcoming ambient guitar album.  Mike also works in the film and television industry as an assistant editor.  His credits include the Oscar-Nominated, “The Fighter” and the television series, “Nikita.”

As the music project grows with each tune produced, B.O.S.S promises to continue making smooth and melodious music for the grown and sexy!
