Southside Johnny is near-royalty in his home state of New Jersey and is a musical treasure among fans of rock, blues & soul.  His fusion of styles over the past three decades has won for him a fiercely loyal following and has made him a concert draw and consistent CD seller throughout his 28-album career.

Johnny is now returning with Grapefruit Moon: The Songs of Tom Waits, a highly anticipated tribute to the music of songwriting legend Tom Waits.  The new disc is not only Southside's tribute to one of his favorite songwriters, but also a to pet sound: big band music. Partnering with longtime friend, trombonist Richie "LaBamba" Rosenberg (the Jukes and The Late Show with Conan O'Brien), Southside has achieved a reverent-and at times, true to his houserockin' ways, irreverent-homage with a dozen handpicked Waits songs.

So were honored that Southside Johnny wants to share with SoulTrackers a peek from Grapefruit Moon with the great track, "Down Down Down."  It's a gritty reminder of what makes Southside so special and is a great introduction to this marvelously upbeat album.
