May 13, 2015 – Cleveland, Ohio – The fatherhood-themed urban comedy film, #50Fathers premieres in Cleveland, Ohio, Friday May 22 and Sunday, May 24 with a soundtrack that features music from Grammy Award winning guitarist Michael J. Calhoun, a founding member of the group Dazz Band. The #50Fathers soundtrack was constructed by award winning Director Joddy Eric Matthews and the film’s Music Supervisor Maurice. Calhoun and Maurice collaborated on the movie’s title track, “Cold, Cold World”.
May 13, 2015 – Cleveland, Ohio – The fatherhood-themed urban comedy film, #50Fathers premieres in Cleveland, Ohio, Friday May 22 and Sunday, May 24 with a soundtrack that features music from Grammy Award winning guitarist Michael J. Calhoun, a founding member of the group Dazz Band. The #50Fathers soundtrack was constructed by award winning Director Joddy Eric Matthews and the film’s Music Supervisor Maurice. Calhoun and Maurice collaborated on the movie’s title track, “Cold, Cold World”.
“Maurice is wise beyond his years. The collaboration was perfect. I am truly honored to be a part of this historic movie”, says Calhoun. The film also features the music of Antoine Dunn, whose previous album produced 2 Billboard top #15 singles. The film’s trailer, featured a collaboration with soul rock band Winslow and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bernie Worrell (Parliament/Funkadelic, Talking Heads). Maurice, who doubles as Music Supervisor and Associate Producer, states “When this project started, I never dreamed we would have such an incredible array of talent contributing to it. We are featuring some of Ohio’s top musical talent and multiple international artists on the soundtrack as well. Great stories with great acting call for great music.”
Also adding 4 original songs to the film’s musical compilation was musician/producer Eriq Troi (George Clinton, George Duke), international actress turned musician DJ Coco Brown, NYC singer/songwriter Peter Kelly, and more. Said Matthews of the film’s musical score, “We care most about the emotional journey we take the viewer on. This was truly a gifted group of artists who contributed to taking this film to the next level.”
#50Fathers is a dramatic comedy written and directed by Joddy Eric Matthews (Seeing Tomorrow, The Deadly Return Project, The Bubble) and filmed in Northeast Ohio. It’s produced by Triangle Park Entertainment, LLCand its Chicago-based production partner, Madwerkz Studios LLC. It will premiere in Cleveland (May 22, 2015 at Lakeshore Cinemas 7, 7 pm; May 24, 2015 at Tower City Cinemas, 4 pm). Releases will follow in Columbus, Detroit, Atlanta, Washington DC and Memphis. #50Fathers, the first urban comedy filmed in 4K or Ultra HD, will also be made available to viewers around the world through video-on-demand (VOD) on Reelhouse (www.reelhouse.org) on May 25th..
