To bring this dream to life, Kashif is shifting from already having invested money himself to film 200 interviews.

Kashif is now raising funding through an Indiegogo campaign that challenges all who say that they value real soul music, to put up anything they can afford to show solidarity –from $5.00 to $50,000.00. For their support, donors can receive perks ranging from t-shirts and autographed books to a speaking role in the film and even a song produced by Kashif.

"After 40 successful years in music and entertainment I finally get to do my ‘dream project,’”Kashif states. “To say that I am excited is a vast understatement.”

A portion of the film’s proceeds will benefit the Rhythm & Blues Foundation to provide financing for aging R&B artists in need of housing and medical assistance. A product of the NYC foster care system, Kashif is always looking for ways to live his purpose. Damon Williams, President of the Rhythm & Blues Foundation, states: “I can’t think of anyone more suited to take on this monumental task of documenting R&B music and helping leaders who have fallen on difficult times.”

Through “The History of R&B Music,” fans will learn how R&B helped end the Vietnam War, as well as promote gender equality in the early `80s. It has also driven how advertising agencies promote products and services.  R&B music heard the birthing sounds of a new nation, and uniquely responded with the songs, dances, styles and culture that set the nation into swing and on the good foot.  While the American Songbook has been called the soundtrack of our lives, consider R&B as the boom box of the new American Revolution.
