The sad death last February of Bobbie Smith, one of the founding members of the Spinners, left the legendary group as a quartet consisting of the sole remaining original member, Henry Fambrough, along with Charleton Washington, Jessie Peck and Marvin Taylor. But, as revealed in a new interview in Soul Express magazine, after several months and over two dozen tryouts, the group chose longtime Flint, Michigan singer, Ronnie "Raheem" Moss as the newest member of the quintet.

While Moss spent time as a member of popular regional groups the Velvetones and Orange Lake Drive, deep soulheads may remember him for his mid-90's solo album, I Want to Thank You. The album included the moderately popular single, "I Do Like Your Style."

With Moss in the group, the Spinners plan to continue playing 50-70 shows per year and are planning to put together a new album as early as 2014.  Welcome, Ronnie Moss!
