Traciana Graves

    Official Biography of Traciana Graves

Traciana Graves is a very intoxicating young woman. Born in Harlem, U.S.A. she was largely raised in France when the career of her model mother took the family abroad. It is in France where Traciana became immersed in the arts and music. She taught herself to become a guitarist, studied at the Sorbonne and became the first American accepted into the prestigious National Acting Conservatory in France. This foundation lead her to become a sought after background singer for the likes of Celine Dion, Steel Pulse, Youssou N' Dour, Andrew Lloyd Webber and others.

Tales of A Prodigal Daughter is a true reflection on the essence of a bracing singer/songwriter Traciana Graves. Acclaimed Living Colour guitarist Vernon Reid took an interest to Traciana's unique musical viewpoint and among other things introduced her to producer V. Jeffrey Smith of The Family Stand (Des ree, Paula Abdul ,Heather Headley). Together Smith and Traciana crafted an album (based in the alternative soulful pop akin to artists like India Arie, Seal, Les Nubians) that is a montage of what the world has seen from many places. This musical bed provides the perfect vehicle for Traciana to express herself which she does in her first nature languages of English, French, Spanish, Swahili and Portuguese.

They say that True Art should take you to another place. An enjoyable and compelling album stirs repeated listening. Tales of a Prodigal Daughter by Traciana Graves is true Art and will repeatedly do all of the above.
