Soultracks fam! We have a great set of picks this installment for the video countdown. Are you ready? Today we're starting off with a beautiful acoustic set by Lydia Rene in "Only In Time" and then set sail with Gloria Ry'ann's nightingale vocals on "Back With You." Jahah gives us a phenomenal and ethereal track on "Bare My Heart," while The Slakadeliqs featuring Justin Nozuka provide an inspirational boost with "Just Keep Breathing." And to round off the set, Rhonda Thomas featuring Avery Sunshine, complement each other magnificently on the duet "Just Us." See y'all soon and enjoy!

I need to say this to Soul Track's and every other " Black " cultural out-let.
The jumping on the Michael Jackson bandwagon. Lets take a stroll back. MJ was not the only ticket in town, he was there in the charts with much more substanial talents, i.e. Levi Stubb's, Marvin Gaye, etc...
White culture likes non- threathing Black men, Michael was the super star because white people accepted him, not because he was so great.
There are a lot of great black singers whom passed on that were a lot more substantial than MJ, where do I begin ? James Brown, Luther Vandross,Wilson Pickett, Jackie Wilson,
it's a shame that a young man passed so young in life, it's a greater shame that he was so dumb as to let society do what it did to him, all in the name of fame and fortune.
Those of us who are 45 - 55 think about how many MJ albums you actually bought.
Congratulations Soul Tracks

Congratulations Soul Tracks on the new addition. Keep up the good work Ann Marie. In regards to the post about Michael Jackson from one individual I am 48 and African American and I have purchased many Michael Jackson CD's. I even remember when you used to have your parents buy the Alpha Bits just to get the 45 record off of the box.

OOoo chile booo.
Michael Jackson was great not because he was a superstar because of white folks try the world(to which white folks are only a small part of)... MJ was and even in his passing an international star/icon. No one else comes close to that as far as entertainers. No one! His showmanship his lyrics, his music, his heart and not to mention he's been working at his craft his entire life. How could you miss that???
The other great soul singers that have passed on took their place and marked their spot in the world and touched the people they were suppose to touch... past, present and future.
The lil bit of stuff that those folks n Hollyweird did to MJ are mere dust specs on a sweater compared to the impact that this talented artist/man has had on the world... from performers to everyday run of the mil avg folks. Again I say all over the world.
Personally I've never been a big fan of any of the folks you mentioned and that includes MJ...I'm a Chakaholic all day long... But I do recognize greatness.
Let's try a lil harder not to belittle one man's accomplishments because we think someone else didn't get their just due, or reach the stature of another.
We all sing our own song because we are all one of a kind unique individuals.
The amount of people that we reach really depends on the marketing and promotions team... ;0-)

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome!
No one is jumping on anyone's bandwagon. Michael Jackson was one of the most prolific artists of our time. All of the singers mentioned left their own mark on the music industry and that goes without saying. I enjoy everyone's music and this video was a tasteful tribute to one of the best that ever was. Like you Pamela, I own plenty of MJ/Jackson 5 vinyl and CD's!
Anyhow, glad everyone is enjoying thus far. Again, thank you all and enjoy!

Thanks for this beautiful selection! You should include Huu (lunazian) in your next list, he's a very talented Youtube artist, even if he may be a little bit too pop-ish for SoulTracks but his covers are really great.

Ann Marie -
Such great selections! You are costing me money, girlfriend! Loved "Just A Man" (George Hodos), "Fistful of Tears" by Maxwell was outstanding, and "Old School Medley" by Solo - well, it dates me to say how much I identified with this one!
As for "I learned Her" by Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings - too many of us out here know all about this song! ;-)
Keep them coming!
Blessings,
Bonnie
