(October 8, 2017) I will confess to not knowing New York based keyboardist Moon Rocket (Raffa Scoccia), but his recentl album release, The Way Love Is, certainly turned my head. A groove-filled, uber listenable disc featuring the vocals of many indie soul favorites like Marlon Saunders and Nicholas Ryan Gant, it is a disc that has been a pleasant surprise as we enter the Fall season rush of new music.

Perhaps the song that has moved front and center for me is the title cut, featuring longtime ST fave Lisala Beatty, who simply kills it vocally and gives the dance number an awful lot of soul underneath.

“The Way Love Is” is our newest SoulTracks First Listen. Check it out below and definitely find the chance to hear the full album.
