May 4, 2022 — Welcome back to Another Groove, our series dedicated to new music that is neither pure soul nor R&B but which has elements of those genres and may please your ears.  This week we feature the track “Same Old Ways” by Ama Lou.

Ama is a singer/songwriter from North London who was signed to Interscope Records in 2019 after a shout-out from Drake on Instagram. She has released 3 EP’s since then, all featuring fresh alt-R&B with occasional hip hop and acid jazz accents.  Our featured track, the delightful visual for which Ama directed, highlights that her sweet vocals are equally matched by the mesmerizing flow of her spoken verse. Enjoy.
