September 16, 2018 – Welcome to Another Groove, our series dedicated to new music that is neither pure soul nor R&B but which contains elements of those genres and may please your ears. This week we feature “Salvation” by Tash Sultana.

Sultana is a 23 year old singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Australia whose debut album, Flow State, was released on August 31st.  She is renowned for being essentially a “one woman band,” with creative use of looping pedals to layer her live performances, and her music usually trends toward alt rock and psychedelia. Our featured track, however, finds Tash delightfully exploring lush hip hop and R&B rhythms with a dash of pop on top. Her spidery guitar work here is especially fluid and melodic; she is very much one with her instrument. Enjoy.
