Shailaun: An animated spirit of Love.

Shalaundra “Shailaun” Manning, born July 28, 1988, is an American singer-songwriter, producer, actress, and model from Arlington, Texas. For as long as she can remember, she has been an artist and has always been connected to all things music. Her distinct and unique style derives from many musical influences and genres from her roots in Gospel, to R&B, to Indie, to her now World-Soul platform. Her soul stirring music speaks across cultures and generations with smooth, sultry sounds in contralto reminiscent of Sade fused with the lyrical stylings of Erykah Badu and India Arie. Shailaun creates tunes with an internal desire to heal and encourage herself and the world around her.

Shailaun’s first major singing opportunity was in 2004 where she sang the Negro national anthem for the Lincoln and Lawrence D. Bell high school Black History Month program. In February of 2005, she received that opportunity again with a different school, Trinity Christian School in Cedar Hill, Texas. After graduating from Sam Houston high in 2006, Shailaun began pursuing a career in modeling and acting while music remained her outlet; as many of her songs were formed from her experiences during this journey. In the fall of 2012 Shailaun began recording and performing her music on stages throughout the US and Spain from Elastic Arts (Chicago), Sandaga 813 (Dallas), and Soul Station (Madrid). Additionally, Shailaun has also made appearances for charitable events such as Couture N’ Health, a fight to end Malaria put on by the Godsent Foundation and the African Chamber of Commerce in Arlington, Texas.

In December 2013, Shailaun released her first single “The Sun is Shining for Us” to the world. This release along with her 2^nd single “Wonder” released March 2015, are preludes to her highly-anticipated debut album "The Awakening of Shai” (release date TBA). Shailaun is currently an independent artist embarking on her musical career with a band named after herself, SHAiLAUN. Current members of the band, include: Shailaun Manning - Lead vocalist and executive producer, Jameal "Asset" Williams. - Keys & BG Vocalist, Jacob Nordgren - Guitar, Paulo Calomini - Guitar, James Brown - Percussion, Robert Trusko - Bass & BG Vocalist, and Isabel Crespo - BG Vocalist. Tours and promotional shows are being scheduled for later this year.
