First Listen: Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis return with a pair of Beatles tributes

They are legends two times over, and a model for longevity in an industry where that comes at a premium. And we are extremely happy to welcome back the great Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis , to SoulTracks.

Both as members of the 5th Dimension and as a duo, Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis have created a lot of great music over their five plus decades in the public eye, and have also served as a model of togetherness since their marriage in 1969. We last heard new music from them over a decade ago with the album The Many Faces of Love, and now they are back with a couple new songs in anticipation of an upcoming album paying tribute to the songs of the Beatles.

To introduce us to the disc, Marilyn and Billy give us both an upbeat cover of the Paul McCartney #1 hit from 1976, "Silly Love Songs," and a lush remake of the oft-covered Beatles' classic ballad, "Blackbird." Billy takes the lead on the former and Marilyn on the latter, and both sound great.

Check out the lyric video for "Silly Loves Songs" below and also the Spotify collection of both songs, and tell us what you think!
