R&B artist Derek Damian is a singer, songwriter with multiple talents and gifts. He has had a love for music since he was 7 years old. He started singing in plays when he was in school, but it wasn't until the 90's when he moved to California from Iowa when his singing career began. He has sung with an R&B music group called Phaze 3. He also had a compilation album thru an entertainment company / RCA records, It was called "Phuture Flava" and it featured such artist as Rome, Christopher Williams, and Chante Savage. He writes, produces R&B and hip-hop as well as record. He has worked with such artist as Sean Rivera from the group AZ YET, Sean Kristopher, and many other talented producers. His singing background comes from his father Harry Elston which was part of an old school group called the "Friends of Distinction" whose hits included the original "Going In Circles", and "Grazing in the Grass", which has been used in many movies and commercials. He is constantly producing new R&B songs and hip hop tracks. Music is Derek Damian's life, passion, and heart.
His music influences are Barry White, Isaac Hayes, Larry Graham, Teddy Pendergrass, the Dells, Lou Rawls, Will Downing, Stylistics, and many Jazz influences. "I feel the industry of music is in need of that deep stylish baritone voice with swag that can bring the love back to the music." With the passing of some of the great artist mentioned he definitely feels that's what God brought him here to do.
