Doug Grigsby

    Douglas Carroll Grigsby III, known around the music business as Doug Grigsby, has been a mainstay in the R&B circles for four decades.

    As a member of the band The Ladder, and particularly as a session bass guitarist, he created a name for himself as one of the most in demand musicians around.

    During the 80s, Grigsby worked with a whose who of singers, including Teena Marie, Teddy Pendergrass, Meli’sa Morgan, Jean Carne, Regina Belle and dozens of others. His name is most associated with Teena Marie, with whom he worked for many years as both a bass player and producer.
