    JoVia,the Detroit bred Multi-Percussionist and 2009 Detroit Music Award nominee for Outstanding World Instrumentalist has just released an electrifying self produced debut album, "Fuzzy Blue Robe Chronicles". Pirahna Head deemed it as, "best album of 2009". She has been performing for over 20 years and is a member of 2009 and 2010 Detroit Music Award nominees, Musique Noire. JoVia has a special hybrid percussion set up that gives artists a great groove without being overpowering and leaves audiences in a state of wonderment. She has had the pleasure of sharing the stage with Amp Fiddler, Trey Anastacio and Michael Franti & Spearhead. She has performed with various artists such as British recording artist Omar, El DeBarge, Chilean artist Joe VasConcellos, RES, Alison Crockett, Angela Johnson, Maysa, Rahsaan Patterson, Eric Robeson, Maya Azucena, Gordon Chambers, Conya Doss, Yolanda Johnson, flautist Nicole Mitchell, Maggie Brown, Yaw, and many more. She performed with various artists opening shows for such acts as Kindred the Family Soul, Thomas Mapfumo, Gerald Albright and The Bad Plus. She is currently writing songs for various artists and producing the debut album for Penny's Revenge, all female rock-soul group. She resides in Chicago, IL.... for now...
