One of the great finds for us in 2021 has been talented singer and songwriter, Acantha Lang. The New Orleans raised, UK-based performer has made a splash around the world with a string of singles that call on her Southern Soul lineage and sophisticated, full arrangements that are tough to find these days.

After three hit songs this year, Acantha is now releasing her much-anticipated debut EP, Sugar Woman. It includes the familiar “He Said/She Said,” “Lois Lang” and “What Happened To Our Love,” along with her new single “Sugar Woman” and a killer cover of Nina Simone’s “I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To Be Free,” which has been heard regularly on television ads in Europe.

Acantha tells us, "Releasing this EP is a huge milestone for me. With my album release being pushed back to 2022, I thought this was the perfect time to release a smaller body of work, while I finish up the album. By releasing this EP, I get to show people more of my sound and more of who I am as an artist and songwriter. This is all very exciting to me!"

The whole disc is an absolute joy, and one we know that SoulTrackers are going to be listening to for months to come.

We’re proud to present Sugar Woman as our newest SoulTracks Featured Album.  We also have a special YouTube Double Play below of the new songs "Sugar Woman" and "I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel To be Free." Check it all out below and tell us what you think. Welcome back, Acantha!
