(November 30, 2017) The last couple of years have been good for trumpeter and vocalist Johnny Britt. He’s remained busy both as a solo act and as a studio musician. His 2016 solo project Marvin Meets Miles was well received. On top of that, Britt played trumpet in several highly-regarded movies, including a couple that received Academy Award recognition. His trumpet can be heard on LaLa Land and Hidden Figures. Britt a makes a cameo appearance in the former. Additionally, he also can be heard on the score to the films Dunkirk, Marshall and Sandy Wexler.

As the year ends, Britt could rest, but rather than focus on holiday shopping, the trumpeter will be among the artists dropping Christmas albums in 2017. That album is titled Christmas Time of the Year. For a first listen, we present “Christmas Is Here Tonight,” a holiday song that also does double duty as a steppers anthem. Give it a listen.
