(August 25, 2021) French-Caribbean artist Adeline said the mantra of being fearless that guides her art became her guiding light in the days after the death of Prince. She grieved along with most music fans and she also watched the wall to wall coverage. Adeline recalled hearing Stevie Wonder talking about Prince and calling him “fearless,” and knew that she had to adopt that philosophy if she wanted to achieve her music dreams. Adeline realized that if she ever worried about what others thought about her music, that was something that she had to stop doing. Adeline also knew at that moment she had to pursue her dream of becoming a solo artist.

Adeline is the kind of artist confident enough to pick up a new instrument, the bass, hours before her band’s concert because the bassist hired for the date cancelled. A guitarist, Adeline got some tips and practiced then played the bass during the show. The bass became her main instrument. It’s no surprise then that the pandemic that shut down the world didn’t stop Adeline from performing. Nor did COVID prevent Adeline from creating. Adeline went into her home studio to perform her brand of funky R&B in her Home Bred series.

She will release a new EP titled Adi Oasis on Sept. 10. That seven track project features three new tunes and four tracks that are fan favorites and includes the percussive and sensual “9.” The ballad possesses a deep, funky bass driven groove, some in the pocket drum work and a breezy quality that is carried by the sensual quality that Adeline brings to the lyrics. And the subject matter of Adeline telling the object of her desire that they need to stop delaying at reach highest level of ecstasy is one that she delivers convincingly.
