(November 11, 2018) As we gradually enter the holiday season for 2018, several artists are releasing a fair share of merriment.  In 2015, Aloe Blacc brought us an acoustic flavored 4-track Christmas EP, showcasing his powerful rich pipes on traditional favorites.  In his most recent contribution for the holidays, Blacc turns another corner by reflecting upon his family’s Christmas times, courtesy of mostly original material on his upcoming full-length, Christmas Funk.

Often known for blending pop and dance into hits like “Wake Me Up” (a collaboration with Avicii) and “The Man,” Blacc pumps up more soul and funk into this celebration, such on our newest First Listen, “I Got Your Christmas Right Here.”  The accompanying video centers on - what else - joyous times alongside the different generations of family and their friends wrapping the presents, eating at the table, and dancing to Blacc’s joyous soundtrack.  And it is no surprise that Blacc, with his uncanny ability to handle multiple genres during any time of the year, has delivered a memorable moment with “I Got Your Christmas Right Here.” It is about time to begin the holidays on the right foot.
