(June 12, 2019) Relationship is a necessary part of life. People need to connect, but sometimes relationships can be a necessary evil that are as apt to take away from your mental and emotional state as to add to it. Those necessary connections require us to trust and give so much of ourselves, and there is no guarantee that those sacrifices will be appreciated or reciprocated. Swedish singer Alyza addresses the toll that loss of control takes on her new song “Low.”

The tune is a part of the growing trend that we hear in music where artists expose their vulnerability by taking on the grittier aspects of love. The song’s sparse arrangement is propelled by a slow and driving bass line and keyboards that set the foundation for the track’s push and pull between a person’s desire to go all in on a relationship and knowledge that maybe she ought to hold back a little.
