February 13, 2022 – There’s something special about Amber Mark.  Her smokey, slightly serrated and textured vocals, personal warmth, enthusiasm for her craft, lyrical honesty, and graciousness toward her audience add up to an intoxicating listen.  You may plan on just one wee dram when you hit “play” on your Spotify app, but you find yourself nevertheless making additional, more generous pours of her artistry.

Fortunately, of late, Amber can be seen and heard almost everywhere.  Earlier this month, she released her debut full-length album, Three Dimensions Deep, and has been appearing live in all manner of places, from NPR’s Tiny Desk series to the Honda Stage for Billboard and beyond.

What we’re hearing now is an artist who has fully arrived and has carved her own musical lane: one firmly anchored by the grace and organic instrumentation of classic R&B but accented with the phrasing of hip hop and the seduction of Latin rhythms.

We feature here Amber’s song “FOMO” from the new album, a spirited dance track with an 80’s vibe on which Amber also drops some spoken verse.  Also included is the entirety of her Tiny Desk performance, an intimate and delicate musical journey that is simply too good not to share.  Enjoy, you’ll be glad you watched and listened.
