Blogger, producer, photographer, multimedia guru, DJ (on the renown 89.9 KCRW in L.A.), and just all around Renaissance man, Anthony Valadez returns two-years after his undeservedly slept-on 2012 Plug Research release, Just Visiting. Not one to give up on what is an emerging signature sound, Valadez is back with another gorgeous, free-flowing set of electro soul experimentations and sultry genre blending sounds on his latest Plug Research release, In Search Of…, one not dissimilar to Just Visiting in meditative ease and feel. The San Fernando born, Santa Monica based Latin artist has grown since his Audio Visual album for his former label, Record Breakin’ Music, gaining an ear for tighter melodic moments within his open deconstructions. Joining him is a who’s who groove party of the underground, including: Rep Life, The Decoders, Jimetta Rose, Lizzy Parks, and Just Visiting returnees, Miles Bonny and Zack Sekoff, among others. The slip of a song, “Good Looking” features an ethereal Bird, and is sure to make its way on many a DJ set. Give it a spin and see if you don’t find yourself saying: “Hey, good looking!”
