(June 8, 2023) Atlanta based singer/songwriter Aryeé The Gem said that her new single “To It” was inspired by her tendency to overthink, particularly during times when she is feeling stressed. That’s a character trait that many of us can understand.

“To It” is an introspective song that finds Aryeé taking a conversational tone that floats over a bass and percussive groove as she describes silently dealing with the stress of bills, questioning the status of relationships, and trying to make sense of what the emotions she is feeling. “To It:” addresses Aryeé´s efforts to balance the dealing with the pressures of daily life while advancing her career and trying to maintain relationship with the important people in her life. She comes to the realization that she some things are going to slip and that’s where the song’s title comes in.

Or as Aryeé puts it: “My intention for writing this song was to give a voice to the discomfort of transition. Growing and healing is not easy and is sometimes glorified without acknowledging the actual work within it. Instead of wallowing in my shadow, I’m allowing myself to alchemize some of my ‘lower vibrational’ feelings in a way that honor and respect them, while simultaneously pushing past them to elevate - If the only constant thing we have in life is change, then we all must keep getting to it”.
