(January 15, 2020) He’s a celebrated artist who is about to fire up brand new material after a long studio absence, he is reuniting with a hit-making producer, and he’s wrapping this up into a historic birthday event to boot.  Trinidad born, London England native, Billy Ocean has lived and breathed music for over five decades, and he’s still going strong. Ocean was rewarded in 2018 with the Ivor Novello Award for his lifelong contributions to the U.K. music scene, and he’s now delivering his unique blend of soul, funk and pop in yet another new decade.

Now primed and ready to release his first all-original project in a decade, Ocean delivers an emphatic 70th birthday present in “One World” (Aqua Music/Sony).  This vibrant song, which is the title track for an upcoming Spring 2020 release, fits the essence of Ocean’s upbeat vocal approach and echoes many of his eighties’ crossover smash hits like “Caribbean Queen” and “Get Out of My Dreams.” An entrusted friend, Barry Eastmond, who piloted the aforementioned tracks, returns in anchoring a festive soulful treat in “One World.”  Within those festivities, Ocean preaches on how love for the world should be exhibited: “Callous people out there/In the world today/Will burst your bubble/Hurting by the games they play.”
