(July 6, 2022) Blue Soul Ten is an another one of those acts who has been making high quality music under the radar. I must admit that I had not heard of them until I got this assignment. It’s a shame how often that happens. But it’s also a testament to the amount of quality music being made even as the narrative persists that ‘nobody’ is making good music anymore.

Blue Soul Ten has been releasing work of the quality heard on his latest album This Is Worth It for more than a decade through his independent label Greenhouse Music. The label gave Blue Soul Ten the freedom to pursue his creative vision and to collaborate with artists who had a similar vision. That pursuit leads Blue Soul Ten to make soul, jazz, EDM and hip-hop rather than being forced to choose a lane.

The latest single, “You Should Know By Now” (feat. Dennis Lorenzo), shows Blue Soul Ten can operate smoothly in the classic R&B ballad lane. Lorenzo was a contestant on Season 16 of American Idol, and he displays a rangy baritone that can easily move into the falsetto territory when needed.

The song’s smooth arrangement provides Lorenzo ample space to showcase his chops and throw himself fully into a song that finds him working to convince a woman not to ignore the evidence of his love and devotion that is right before her eyes.
