(April 24, 2017) Longtime SoulTracks friend Ken Knox has kept the legacy of the legendary Chairmen of the Boardalive after the 2010 death of General Johnson, and continued to record songs that are true to the group’s past, even as they pave a new way forward. Ken tells us, I'm fulfilling a promise made to General Johnson and Danny Woods to continue our legacy, now with new members Thomas Hunter and Brandon Stevens.”

And a lot of great things can be said of the group’s newest song, “All I Need Is You Tonight,” a number that harkens to some of the best music of the Philly soul era of the 1970s. And that’s with good reason: the song was written by Melvin & Mervin Steals (known for The Spinners’ “Could It Be Im Fallin' In  Love”) and produced by the legendary McKinley Jackson. And the song brings a huge smile from the opening note.

Melvin Steals tells us, “My twin brother Mervin and I have not been this excited about the recording of a Steals Brothers' song since The Spinners recorded the timeless American classic, ‘Could It Be I'm Falling In Love’ in 1972. For the two of us, the Soul-Stirring singing of ‘All I Need Is You Tonight’ by the Motor City's legendary Chairmen of the Board featuring Ken Knox is the icing on the cake!

We are dancing in our seats with this cool new song, and we think you all are going to love it. Check out “All I Need Is You Tonight,” and welcome back The Chairmen of The Board!
